Germany's premier soccer league to release NFT

The commercial division of Germany's top soccer league, the Bundesliga, has signed a two-year deal with Sorare. Together they plan to produce NFT cards. Information is available on Sorare's website.

Sorare is an NFT platform with a soccer theme. Among the company's investors is French footballer Antoine Griezmann, and its adviser is famous Barcelona club footballer Gerard Pique.

Sorare raised about $680 million to finance this project from Softbank. Together with the Bundesliga, they will release digital cards by 2022. Users can sell and buy them in ETH.

At the moment, the management of the German soccer league is studying the commercial use of NFT. They plan to hold tenders in 2022.

Bundesliga CEO Robert Klein thinks the sports sector should take NFT seriously.

Sorare plans to strike a deal with 20 more big-name soccer clubs by the end of next year. The company has already worked with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus.

Previously, Sorare produced NFT-cards. The most expensive of them belongs to Cristiano Ronaldo. It was sold for $400 thousand. These cards are considered very valuable and rare.
