cryptocurrency prices aug 16 2021

Bitcoin continues to gently approach the $50,000 round level. Last Saturday, BTC went above $48,000, but soon the bears started to be more active and quickly sold the price to around $45,600. The second attempt of growth was this morning, when BTC also rose above $48,000. But correction followed there as well, though less significant.

Bitcoin's strength gives altcoins an opportunity to show themselves. DOGE gained 14% in the last 24 hours and SOL gained as much as 37%. Solana was even in the top 10 in terms of capitalization at one point, but then shifted to 11th place.

Among other growing assets from the top 100, LUNA (+29%), ONE (+18%) and REV (+19%) are worth mentioning. The other coins are growing at a more moderate pace.

UMI has stabilized at $0.16-$0.17 and has not left this range for several days.
